Spanish newspaper Marca report that Manchester United are closing in on Barcelona star Pedro.
The attacker is currently on tour with the La Liga champions, and with the team due to face the Red Devils at the weekend, there is added reason that a deal could be rushed through before hand.
Marca report: "According to those close to Pedro, talks with the English club are so advanced that the deal could even be announced this week."
The report states United are expecting to get their man for no more than £21 million, a potential bargain for a player capable of playing across the front line.
Barcelona are said to be keen to cash in, after spending on Aleix Vidal and Ardu Turan.
The big question regarding the transfer, is whether he will be replacing his former El Clasico rival Angel di Maria, but manager Louis van Gaal has told SkySports that the Argentine will join up with the Red Devils on tour despite reports linking him to PSG.
Former United defender Rio Ferdinand used his Instagram page to talk up Pedro as a potential signing, citing his knack of scoring in important games.
The 27-year-old netted 11 times and provided nine assists last season, but was frequently used as a substitute,
