The North Londoners finished the second half of last season strongly, winning the FA Cup and recording an impressive eight-game win streak in the league to finish third.
With the signing of Petr Cech, big things are expected of the club this season, yet Parlour believes the Czech international won’t be among the club’s star players, instead opting for their midfield trio.
“Sanchez is a top quality player and if he’s fit he will be a dominant force. I have also been impressed with Santi Cazorla, those alongside Jack Wilshere will be the stars of the upcoming campaign,” he explained.
Arsenal’s strongest area of the team:
Arsene Wenger has done a fabulous recruiting job over the past couple of seasons, despite calls for a new centre-back, defensive midfielder and centre-forward.
With the options available, the Gunners are undoubtedly strongest in midfield and the combination of Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla through the middle has added great balance.
In Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alexis Sanchez and Jack Wilshere, the club are spoilt for choice in attacking midfielders, with Theo Walcott and Danny Welback also options.
However, while Cazorla and Sanchez are guaranteed first-team spots, the same can’t be said of Wilshere as the England international needs to prove his long-term fitness and tweak a few areas of his game.
