A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Manchester United’s mooted move for Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller could be thwarted due to the politics at the German club.

The report claims the German international is keen on a move to Old Trafford but that Bayern supremo Karl Heinz Rummenigge does not want to sell two players to United in a single summer, certainly not two players who have come through the ranks at the club and who the fans identify with.

In other news, the Mail also claims United have taken young American defender Matt Olosunde on trial.

The 16-year-old is currently on the books at New York Red Bulls but the report claims he is now training with United in the hope of earning a permanent move.

Olusunde is able to play at either centre-back or right-back and his versatility will certainly work in his favour if he is to earn a deal at Old Trafford.

And finally, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claims Argentine international goalkeeper Sergio Romero has agreed a three-year deal to sign for United with wages of £1.2million a year.

The 28-year-old is a wonderful addition considering he is a free agent and if the latest report is true it raises questions over a number of ‘keepers currently on United’s books.
