Liverpool have completed the transfer of Christian Benteke, the club have announced via their official website.
The Belgian international signs from Aston Villa, after the Reds activated the £32.5 million release clause in his contract.
Benteke bounced back last season after missing the World Cup through injury, picking up his form considerably after Tim Sherwood replaced Paul Lambert as boss.
Liverpool themselves struggles to score goals, with Daniel Sturridge injured for much of the season, and in fact no striker reached double figures, with Mario Balotelli netting just once in the Premier League.
Benteke joins international teammate Divock Origi in making the switch to the Reds, and former Burnley forward Danny Ings.
For Villa, his departure brings opportunity, although as Liverpool can attest having struggled to invest the Luis Suarez money wisely, cash is no guarantee.
All eyes are on how Villa spend their windfall, combined with the £8 million received for selling Fabian Delph to Manchester City, they will be hoping to emulate Southampton's success at rebuilding their side.
Here is a look at how Liverpool fans reacted to the deal going through...
Think Benteke is a top signing for #LFC. As long as rodgers keeps him fit and full of confidence and gives him some crosses to work with— Bob at MobGambling (@MobGambling) July 22, 2015
Benteke/Sturridge/Origi/ Ings our strikers. Firminho/Coutinho/Lallana in behind. Surely we've gotta score a few goals this year! #LFC— Ronnie (@ThomasCutter) July 22, 2015
Benteke is the kind of player we need! Big,strong and not injury prone! Not to mention his ability to score goals! Welcome to #LFC Benteke!— Trevor Bhowan (@trevorbhowan) July 22, 2015
