Taking a closer look at arguably Tottenham Hotspur's most exciting young player.
Tottenham Hotspur have a whole host of talented young players coming through the ranks right now, to such an extent that fans may find it difficult to decide exactly which one is worth getting the most excited about.
After all, for every Cameron Carter-Vickers there is a Milos Veljkovic and for every Dele Alli there is a Harry Winks. But despite that quartet’s talent – and it is considerable – the player who may just go on to trump them all has just signed a new long-term contract at the club.
Josh Onomah is an 18-year-old midfielder who can play either centrally or in a more attacking role, and more than once this season he has been referred to by the Tottenham faithful as a Paul Pogba-style player in the making.
While that particular prediction may still be a long way from coming true, the simple fact is Onomah is a class act and he looks set to swiftly build on his single first-team team appearance to date.
That came in Tottenham’s FA Cup match against Burnley last season, but having been included in the senior squad for recent behind-closed-doors friendlies it seems Onomah is now regarded as a first-team member by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham will need plenty of players next season considering they will be competing on four fronts, and in Onomah they have a player who could blossom in the coming months and overtake some of the more famous names tipped to make their breakthrough in a Spurs side that arguably has the most exciting set of youngsters in the top flight.
