The long term injury victim is hoping to win a contract with Boston United.
Julian Bennet is in line to play in the game and the left-back is of course a former Forest first-teamer. He has been speaking to the Boston Standard about the game and his future.
“It would be a good test quality-wise, but we’ll give them a good game.
“Obviously, the pre-season is all about preparing.
“It’s Forest but we’ll still go out there and do our thing right.
“I’ve heard a lot about where this club wants to go
“Why can’t Boston be back in the League?
“Hopefully, I can be that experienced head to see them through.”
Bennett joined Forest from Walsall in 2006 and is a Nottingham boy. He was at the club for five years, playing over 100 games for the club but soon began to suffer from a series of knee problems which have plagued his recent career.
In 2011 he went to Sheffield Wednesday and had subsequent spells at Shrewsbury Town and Southend United. However, because of injury, Bennett has not played a competitive game of football since August 2013 and is now hoping to seal a move to Boston where he is currently on loan.
In a twist of fate it could be a fixture against the youngsters at his former club Forest that could end up seeing him back into the game, even if it is in the National League North.
