Two of Tottenham Hotspur's promising youngsters scored for the club this week.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli scored for his new club earlier today in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Brentford.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have played a number of private games in recent days, with the senior side’s first open-to-all friendly not coming until the end of the month.
That does not mean Tottenham’s players have not been put through their paces in the meantime and Alli and 20-year-old secondary striker Shaquille Coulthirst scored the goals in their latest encounter against the Championship side.
Alli signed for Tottenham back in the winter transfer window but he remained on loan at MK Dons for the rest of the campaign.
By the end of the season the talented 19-year-old had scored 16 goals and providing 11 assists and that return goes a long way to explaining why Tottenham were prepared to pay £5million for his services.
It will be interesting to see how Pochettino uses Alli next season because despite his ability Tottenham have a number of exciting youngsters coming through while their senior stars will also be looking to cement a regular spot.
That said, Spurs’ presence in the Europa League and the fact that they will be fighting on four fronts in total should allow Alli his chances to shine.
And do not be surprised if the goal he scored behind closed doors this week is not the last he nets in the months ahead.
