HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Norwich City’s Northern Ireland international striker Kyle Lafferty is a target for Sheffield Wednesday.
Wednesday are in the market for a new striker this summer, and Lafferty is thought to figure prominently on their wanted list.
Lafferty is back at Norwich after ending last season on loan in Turkey with Rizespor, where he scored two goals in 14 appearances.
The 27-year-old joined Rizespor in the January transfer window after finding himself out of the first-team picture under Alex Neil.
Former Rangers star Lafferty joined Norwich last summer from Palermo, but scored only one goal in 18 appearances for the Canaries.
New Wednesday boss Carlos Cavalhal is keen to bring in a big target man to add to his squad, and Lafferty would fit the bill.
Lafferty has been in inspirational form for Northern Ireland during the last 12 months, spearheading their bid to reach Euro 2016 with five goals in six games to help his country to second spot in Group F.
The former Burnley man could be tempted to move on in search of regular first-team football next season if he is not playing at Norwich as he will want to keep his place in the Northern Ireland side ahead of them possibly qualifying for the European Championships in France next summer.
