Leeds and Aston Villa have been linked with Felipe Avenatti this summer.
Avenatti’s future looked to be set in stone a few weeks ago, with a move to Cagliari on the cards, but it has now been reported by Corriere dello Sport that an unnamed Premier League club are making a move for him.
There is no reference as to who is showing an interest in him, but they would be the third team from England to be linked with the young striker this summer.
Considering both of those teams have had their interest referenced many times, it is highly unlikely that the unnamed club is either Villa or Leeds, and it appears as if a new club wants to sign the forward.
The Uruguayan forward looked close to a move to Cagliari last week, but the Serie B club pulled out of a deal due to a change in management, and the report states that his sale to England is expected ‘as soon as possible’ due to an acceleration of a transfer deal.
This suggests that the unnamed club has already held talks with both Ternana and Avenatti concerning a move to England, and it would come as no surprise to see the hulking 22-year-old striker turning out in the Premier League before too long.
