The winger has long been linked with a move away from the Nou Camp with him struggling to supplant the likes of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez last season and the likes of Alexis Sanchez in the past.
He recently signed a new contract with the club but that has not stopped speculation about a sale, with it being believed his release clause has been significantly reduced in his new deal.
And now Armstrong says both Chelsea and Liverpool are fighting it out to secure the winger.
“There is a bit of a tug of war going on between Chelsea and Liverpool for Barcelona star Pedro,” he wrote on Kicca.
“The winger is being hunted by quite a few clubs but I believe his future could lie in the Premier League.”
First team football key to a move
While there are a number of clubs interested in the player, Armstrong says it will be the one who can offer him first team football that he chooses.
As already mentioned, Pedro has struggled to break into the Barcelona team during his stint in Spain, with there always being a series of world class players ahead of him in the pecking order.
He still has a lot to offer any side though and is arguably a star man himself, and the offer of first team football elsewhere is the only reason he may seek a move away from the La Liga champions.
“He’s a quality player who has made it clear he loves playing football,” added Armstrong.
“I believe that will be the deciding factor when it comes to who gets him. He’ll go to the club that can promise him the most playing time. After all the only reason he wants to leave Barca is because he’s not getting enough games.”
