A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United…
According to a report from the Daily Star – citing claims from Spanish website El Economista – Manchester United target Sergio Ramos will have a meeting with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez in the coming days.
The report goes on to claim that Ramos wants out of Real and will resist any attempts from Perez to change his mind despite the latter’s desire to keep him at the Bernabeu.
Ramos would be a wonderful addition to United’s back-line but in truth it still seems highly unlikely that manager Louis van Gaal will be able to pull this one off.
In other news, the Independent has published comments from Bayern Munich player Philipp Lahm discussing the future of alleged United target Thomas Muller.
The German forward is said to be rated extremely highly by van Gaal and with Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao leaving this summer a new striker is surely high on United’s agenda.
Speaking to reporters this week, Lahm said, “Things can happen very quickly. I certainly can’t provide any guarantee for Thomas Muller (staying).”
What a coup that would be for United, but so soon after Bastian Schweinsteiger’s Bayern Munich exit there would be uproar among the German club’s fans if Muller followed him to Old Trafford.
