Jordon Ibe highlights the strengths of Nathaniel Clyne and Danny Ings

The Liverpool teenager has had his say on two recent arrivals.

Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe has been speaking to the club’s official website about the Reds’ new signings.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has been busy this summer strengthening his squad in a number of key areas, with Nathaniel Clyne, Danny Ings, Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Joe Gomez and Adam Bogdan.

More are expected to follow, but Ibe is clearly impressed with his new teammates after they played together in the club’s pre-season tour of Australia.

Clyne and Ings came in for particular praise after the pair played their part in the recent 2-0 victory against Adelaide United, the former providing an assist for the latter to score.

“Nathaniel has got a lot of pace, he can get up and down the line and he’s a great defender,” Ibe told

He went on to explain that he was enjoying working with the former Southampton defender on the right flank and the pair could develop a very effective partnership over time.

He also praised Ings, who broke his duck for Liverpool in Monday’s clash, and after impressing for Burnley last season the striker could have a very successful career ahead of him at Anfield.

“He’s a great player and I’m happy for him,” Ibe said of his new teammate. “He makes great runs in behind, he’s very quick.”

Liverpool may not have finished their spending quite yet but when you consider the quality players to have arrived in recent weeks there is no doubt Rodgers has excelled in the market when that has not always been the case.
