Could Zlatan Ibrahimovic be negotiating a shock transfer to Manchester United?
Bookmakers Betfair have cut the price from 20/1 to 5/1 for the Swedish superstar to sign for United after heavy backing from punters.
Speculation has gone into over drive after manager Louis van Gaal confirmed ongoing negotiations with a mystery striker at the very top level, boasting at his press conference that it was not a name the media had yet caught wind of, seemingly ruling out Edinson Cavani and Thomas Muller.
He was quoted by The Times: "Yes. He’s in the process. It’s not the striker that the media has written [about]. But you have to wait and see."
Odds dropped regarding a potential deal for Zlatan within hours, although at the time of writing it is AC Milan who remain favourites for his signature.
Manchester United have been linked with selling Angel Di Maria to PSG by The Metro, and it is plausible discussions regarding Zlatan have come about as part of negotiations.
The flamboyant striker has won titles in France, Italy, Holland and Italy, and could hope to add to his impressive haul if he makes the switch to the Red Devils.
Ibrahimovic is currently 33-years-old, and scored 30 goals in 35 appearances for PSG last season.
