Arsenal-linked Arturo Vidal to join Bayern Munich, Marotta confirms

The Juventus chief has revealed that the Chilean midfielder has requested to leave Turin and will link up with the Bundesliga champions.

Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that key midfielder Arturo Vidal has asked to leave the Italian club and is set for a move to Bayern Munich, as per Goal.

The Chile international has been linked with a switch to Arsenal all summer long, as per The Guardian, but it appears that the all-action star will not link up with compatriot Alexis Sanchez in North London.

Goal state that a fee of €40 million (£28m) has been agreed between the sides, with the former Bayer Leverkusen star set to fly to Germany to complete the deal in coming days.

The Allianz Arena outfit have sold Bastian Schweinsteiger to Manchester United this summer and as such look to have moved for Vidal as a replacement.

The 28-year-old was part of the Chile team that won the Copa America on home soil this summer, with Vidal playing a key role in the success.

For Arsenal fans it will be a case of imagining what might have been, while Bayern continue to strengthen their ranks ahead of next term with Vidal’s capture.
