Walcott suggests the key for Arsenal moving forward

Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott feels the club must keep the current squad together in order to move forward.

Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott has been quoted by the Independent claiming the current crop of stars in the club’s squad is among the best he’s seen.

Walcott feels the Gunners should be really pushing to win the Premier League title over the next ten to eleven months, as the club look to build on the success of back-to-back FA Cup wins over the last two seasons.

“The squad is one of the best I have been involved in. I want to be part of that. We’ve got to keep this group of players together,” Walcott told the Independent.

“Successful teams stay together for a long time and this team can be very successful. We have won two FA Cups now. The next big step is to be challenging for the Premier League.”

Is this Arsenal squad one of the best?

There’s no doubt that it’s a squad which is packed full of talent with some very good players in key positions.

Arsenal built some impressive momentum towards the end of last season and have good options in defence, central midfield, wide areas and up front.

The key issue for Arsene Wenger is going to be keeping all of his key players fit over the course of a long season.

Can Arsenal win the Premier League?

Towards the end of last season, the Gunners looked like the side who would most likely push Chelsea all the way, eventually falling off of the pace.

If the club can get off to a good start and make one or two more key additions in the transfer market, there’s no reason why they can’t get stuck into the title race.

There is enough talent and creativity in midfield and up front if the backline can hold firm.
