Report: Manchester City to rival Juventus for Porto’s Alex Sandro

The Blues may make a move for the Brazilian as he only has a year left on his current deal.

Manchester City may rival Juventus for Porto defender Alex Sandro, reports Tuttomercatoweb.

The Brazil international only has a year left on his contract with the Portuguese giants and that has sparked interest from both the European giants, who feel they may be able to secure the player on the cheap.

Porto though, reportedly aren’t keen on a sale having already lost Danilo to Real Madrid this summer and would push for as much as £13million for their man, although Juventus will only go as high as £10million reports TMW.

A Manchester City move for Alex Sandro is likely to depend heavily on if one of their current two left backs leave the club this summer.

Manuel Pellegrini currently has Gael Clichy and Aleksandr Kolarov in the position, but neither enjoyed a fine season last year and are not thought to be long term solutions for the club.

Indeed, Kolarov has been linked with a return to Italy in the past, and should that move arise, an approach for the Brazilian full back is likely to become even more likely.

At the prices being quoted as well, it would prove a fine signing for City, who’s squad could benefit from further additions ahead of next season as they look to bring the Premier League title back to the Etihad.
