Queens Park Rangers have clinched a potentially significant deal, signing Tjaronn Chery from Dutch club Groningen.
The Championship side announced on their official website that Chery had signed a three-year deal.
The 27-year-old has an eye for goal, netting 15 times last season, and he is an exciting player for QPR to add to their ranks.
Chery said he was convinced to join the club by compatriot Leroy Fer, while assistant boss Les Ferdinand was thrilled to have him on board.
He told the club website: "He had offers to earn much more money elsewhere, but he’s chosen QPR because he feels he can progress here as a player and that’s fantastic.
“You hear a lot these days about players being versatile and we’ve certainly got that going forward now. Tjaronn is another one that fits in that mould. He can rotate across that front-line and is very effective in a central or wide role.”
Chery's gives QPR a boost whether they keep last season's top scorer Charlie Austin or not, while Villa could have done with a player with his impact making ability, given their impending loss of Christian Benteke.
Here is a look at the reaction of supporters to the transfer being announced...
Tjaronn Chery ranks very highly in QPR's transfers over the past five seasons. That quality in the Championship will be game changing #QPR— Simon Prue (@SimonPrue_QPR) July 20, 2015
