Aston Villa have released pictures of their two latest signings posing with the club’s shirt on their official Twitter account.
Left-back Jordan Amavi agreed a five-year deal to move to England from French side Nice at the weekend while midfielder Idrissa Gueye has signed a four-year contract following his arrival from Lille.
Villa manager Tim Sherwood will know he has a lot of work to do as he seeks to ensure his side do not have another season like the last, but given how he turned things round when he arrived that is unlikely to be replicated.
Amavi is 21 and featured 60 times for Nice prior to his move, including 37 times last season, a campaign in which he found the net four times.
A goal-scoring full-back is a rare commodity and Villa have done well to sign him, as they have with 25-year-old Gueye.
The Senegal international has spent his entire professional career at Lille, playing 176 times, scoring six goals and providing five assists in the process.
Able to play as a defensive midfielder, further forward or even on the wing if required, he has all the attributes to excel at Villa.
