Leeds United prospect Chris Dawson will be in action for the club's under-21 side.
Highly rated Leeds United prospect Chris Dawson is keen to get his season started despite a tough opening to the campaign.
The attacking midfielder was left out of the club's pre-season tour to Austria, despite new head coach Uwe Rosler taking fellow youngsters Lewie Coyle and Lewis Walters.
Dawson did not feature in the club's earlier pre-season games against non-league opposition, but is finally expecting to get his 2015/16 campaign underway.
He reached out to fans via his Twitter account on Monday night to urge them to go along and support the Leeds under-21 side against Pickering.
Looking forward to the first pre season game tomorrow night, get down to Pickering if your not busy— Chris Dawson (@Chris_dawson7) July 20, 2015
Dawson was a player highly rated by former head coach and head of academy Neil Redfearn, but has so far been unable to make the step up to become a first team regular.
The youngster made three Championship appearances last season, each as a substitute, amassing just 36 minutes of football.
His omission from the tour squad is not a good sign, but he could throw himself back into the reckoning with outstanding performances for the under-21s in the mean time.
The 20-year-old will have a decision to make whether to push on where he is and hope to catch Rosler's attention, or seek out a loan move to a club lower down the leagues where he can get some more competitive football under his belt.
