Manchester United transfer news: Club planning Pedro and Otamendi bids this week; Di Maria latest

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report from the Mirror, Manchester United could replace Angel Di Maria with Barcelona player Pedro this summer.

The report claims Paris Saint-Germain are confident of signing the Argentine international despite the fact he only arrived at Old Trafford for £59.7million last summer.

PSG are said to have offered around £40million for Di Maria and while that would be a hefty financial hit for United the player allegedly wants to move on.

The same story claims United are ready to bid £18million for Pedro, a winger who features predominantly from the right but can also operate on the opposite flank if required.

In other news, Super Deporte claims the agent of Nicolas Otamendi had a meeting with representatives of United at the weekend to discuss a potential move for his client.

The report goes on to claim that both United and Manchester City have decided to make a bid for the Argentine centre-back in the coming days.

There is no doubt he would be a wonderful addition to United’s back-line but it seems there will be competition from a fierce rival if the 27-year-old does leave his current club Valencia.
