Celtic fans react on Twitter to six game ban for Nadir Ciftci

How Celtic fans reacted to Nadir Ciftci's ban.

Celtic have been dealt a blow with the news Nadir Ciftci has been banned for the opening six games of the domestic season.

Talksport reported the Scottish Football Association finding the striker guilty of excessive misconduct, specifically related to biting an opponent when playing for Dundee United against Dundee last season.

Celtic signed the striker just earlier this month, and were well aware of the charge hanging over his head at the time.

It says a lot about their admiration for him, and trust they have, that they were able to set aside the charge and decide to push ahead with his signing regardless.

He made an early impact, setting up a goal against Real Sociedad in a friendly match on his debut, and has continued to look bright ever since.

Ciftci has a six game ban, while two more could be invoked at a later date if he is found guilty of more misconduct charges.

He will still be eligible to play in European competition, but his league debut will not come until September 19, which just happens to be against Dundee, the side against who he committed the offence.

Here is a look at how Celtic fans reacted to the ban being imposed against their new striker...
