The Belgian international’s future at Goodison Park has been the subject of much talk on Merseyside following a testing 2014/15 campaign in which he made 18 Premier League starts.
As per a previous report in the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur were said to be leading the race for his signature and were willing to throw in Everton loan star Aaron Lennon as a deal-breaker. However, popular betting website Sky Bet recently placed the Hammers as favourites to sign Mirallas and their interest has seemingly dialled up a notch, with fresh reports stating a bid has been tabled.
The report goes on to say that the Toffees are unlikely to accept and instead will hold out for £8 million, a figure which isn’t exactly off-putting considering the situation.
Where would Kevin Mirallas fit in at West Ham United?
West Ham have been extremely busy this summer, the club’s hierarchy giving newly appointed boss Slaven Bilic plenty of tools to work with in terms of new signings.
Yet, for all their arrivals including Dimitri Payet from Marseille, the Hammers still lack creativity in wide areas and the recent departure of Stewart Downing has left a void to fill.
Mirallas is very much an ideal replacement, the 27-year-old possessing similar traits in his ability to successfully dribble, swing over accurate crosses and chip in on the goal front.
