Tottenham transfer news: £15m Berahino bid imminent; Villa in talks to sign Adebyaor

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

According to a report from the Sunday People, Tottenham Hotspur will make a £15million bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino in the coming days.

The report claims Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has prioritised a move for the England under-21 international, who scored 20 goals in 45 matches for the Baggies last season.

Berahino also has nine goals in 13 England under-21 appearances and he has developed a fine partnership with Tottenham’s Harry Kane at that level.

Tottenham certainly need another quality striker with only Kane firing last season, but it remains to be seen if West Brom will be prepared to sell their key player when he has two years remaining on his current contract.

In other news, the Mirror claims Aston Villa have opened talks with Tottenham regarding a potential move for striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Togo international had a very poor recent season at White Hart Lane and it would be no surprise to see him move on.

The paper claims talks are ongoing between the clubs and it will be interesting to see if a deal can be struck to reunite Adebayor with Villa boss Tim Sherwood, after the latter got the best out of the front-man two seasons ago.
