New Manchester United signing Bastian Schweinsteiger has told the club's official website he is impressed by the young talent coming through.
Despite only signing earlier this month, the German international feels he has already seen enough from three prospects in particular to suggest the Red Devils have a bright future.
He said: "I enjoyed it a lot because to watch young players, how they are and how they played, with [Andreas] Pereira, Jesse [Lingard] and [James] Wilson.
"They are all very good players. I have seen a lot of young players in my career and I have to say that these young players are very, very good. If they are doing well in the future then Manchester United could be happy."
Up there with the best
Such praise from Schweinsteiger for the young trio is not to be taken lightly. During his years at Bayern, he has seen the best young talents in Germany emerge.
Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller are among those who Schweinsteiger saw come through the club's youth system, and if just one of United's players can go on to emulate either of those World Cup and Champions League winner then the Red Devils will be laughing.
Each of Pereira, Wilson and Lingard face important seasons and will be hoping to do enough to show they can play a first team role this coming season rather than being sent out on loan.
