According to the latest reports in the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are set to table a £15 million bid for West Bromwich Albion’s coveted striker Saido Berahino.
The England Under-21 international is one of the hottest prospects on the market this summer, netting a career-best 20 goals in all competitions for the Baggies last season.
Despite teh valuation, Berahino is highly sought and fresh reports in the Mirror claim Tottenham will tempt the West Midlands side with an offer next week.
"Tottenham will make a £15 million bid for West Brom’s rising star Saido Berahino this week. Manager Mauricio Pochettino has made the Baggies striker a priority," the report states.
Where would Saido Berahino fit in at White Hart Lane?
With Mauricio Pochettino favouring Harry Kane as a lone centre-forward and three attacking midfielders in behind, Berahino could potentially be moved into a wider role in north London.
Spurs have creative players in the likes of Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and Nacer Chadli - yet neither of the three are particularly forceful runners with the ball and it’s an area which needs looking at.
As good as the 21-year-old is, he could pose a problem for Pochettino unless the Argentine plans on using him in a central role, close to Kane, and at the expense of perhaps Lamela through the middle.
