The Spanish left-back is in the Giallorossi’s sights, according to Calciomercatoweb.

Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno is a major target for Roma, with the Italian club’s sporting director flying to England to complete an £8 million transfer, according to Calciomercatoweb.

The Spanish full-back moved to Anfield last summer but put in inconsistent performances in his debut campaign in the Premier League.

The Italian capital city side are seemingly ready to offer the ex-Sevilla man a new start at the Stadio Olimpico, with their sporting director Walter Sabatini in England to continue negotiations between the sides, according to Calciomercatoweb.

The report claims that a fee of €12 million, approximately £8 million, will please both sides and see Moreno become a Roma player ahead of the forthcoming season.

Just whether Brendan Rodgers is willing to let the star leave remains to be seen, as the Spaniard was his first choice on the left flank more often than not last term.

In the Northern Irishman’s bespoke 3-4-3 formation the wing-backs are critical members of the team and as such Moreno’s departure could leave a void ahead of 2015-16.
