Kaboul gone, Spurs fans debate who should be next out the door

Tottenham Hotspur Seats

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been debating who should be next on the club's for-sale list.

The revolving door is wide open at White Hart Lane this summer - only not for the manager but the players.

Indeed, Paulinho, Etienne Capoue and Younes Kaboul have already been sold by Tottenham ahead of next season, with Benjamin Stambouli believed to be next. But that that still leaves several question marks.

And Spurs fans have been debating exactly who should be next to leave what has become a bloated squad.

In defence, Tottenham have recruited well and shipping out Kaboul was a very necessary move indeed. In midfield, though, issues remain both in terms of sales and further additions. In the final third, meanwhile, there is uncertainty as ever in north London.

So who should go? Vlad Chiriches? Kyle Walker? Mousa Dembele? Roberto Soldado? Andros Townsend? All of those and more have been name-checked by supporters in the comments section of the HITC Sport pages, with potential transfer fees also discussed.

Here's a selection of some of the arguments below, as Tottenham gear up to try and emulate their fifth-placed Premier League finish of last term. Who do you think the club should sell next?

Gary Fox wrote: 'Chiriches is an interesting case as he has shown real talent on occasions but he has also been the most error-prone defender in a disastrous defence. But let him go if we can get a decent price.'

Metis wrote: 'Him [Chiriches], Soldado, Lennon, Dembele(maybe) and Fazio'

Harryable18 wrote: 'Five already sold - five to go.

'Soldado to Spain - £12 million

'Townsend to Villa - £12 million

'Adebeyor to Villa - £8 million (wage subsidy for 12 months included)

'Lennon to Everton - £8 million

'Chiriches to Galatasaray - £4 million

'So 10 players trimmed for about £75 million.

'And only three players in so far for about £18 million.

'So a kitty of roughly £60 million to buy three high quality players at 15-20 million each, namely...

'Attacking midfielder (McCarthy, Rabiot et al)

'Wide forward ( tough - but not Moses)

'Striker (Austin, Laurent et al)

'Plus a £2 million third keeper and a £10 million young third striker.

Mark (in reply to Harryable18) wrote: 'I would add Walker to that pile....haven't been convinced he has really come back from the long term injury and looks like Kaboul mark II. Even when fully healthy he was all speed, but his defensive positioning and en product sucked, he made up for all his failings with speed and if injury has robbed him of a step he goes from mediocre to liability in a hurry. Start Trippier, backup with Yedlin, Dier and blood another academy player. Sell Walker before the rest catch on and get a premium for him....he's too old to "learn" his position, he'll never be good positionally, his crossing isn't improving and he'll only slow with age and injury.'

Vegguy (in reply to Harryable18) write: 'You're overpricing Soldado and far overpricing Ade. Ade won't get more than 5M if we paid 80% of his wages. Townsend, however, could draw more. Lennon is a bit high. I hope we'll add Batshuayi.'
