Benik Afobe has thanked Wolves fans for their support after being impressed with the club's pre-season following.
His team saw the fans enthusiasm was not wasted at the weekend, as they won 1-0 away to Burton Albion.
It was Afobe's strike partner Nouha Dicko who scored the goal, with Afobe playing behind him, a role he was more unaccustomed to, but relished.
Thank you to our fans who came to support us today v Burton. Good 1-0 win enjoyed the deeper number 10 role today! pic.twitter.com/ELQrv1h91G— Benik Afobé (@Afobe_) July 18, 2015
The 22-year-old is hoping for a big season, joining Wolves during the winter transfer window from Arsenal, and impressing straight away.
He netted at a rate of better than one in every two games, and chipped in as a provider too.
The striker had found form on loan at MK Dons, before Wolves beat off a host of interested clubs to sign him, with Afobe's form leading the side to seventh place, only missing out on the play-offs via goal difference.
Afobe has been handed the number 10 shirt by the club, and looks excited for the season ahead. If he can find form and continue to keep the trust of the fans with his performances, Wolves are likely to be in the mix for promotion once again.
