West Brom still fear raid from Premier League rival for Saido Berahino

HITC Sports understands the Baggies are bracing themselves for further interest in the Tottenham Hotpsur and Liverpool-linked forward.

West Bromwich Albion are still anticipating losing striker Saido Berahino this summer, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur have long been leading the chase for the 21-year-old, as reported by the Daily Mail, but West Brom had hoped their £30million valuation would scare off any potential suitors.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle United have also been linked with the England Under-21 star – by the Daily Star, among others - who has two years left on his current deal.

The Baggies and Berahino had a falling out last season due to off-field issues, as on the pitch the player enjoyed his best campaign to date - netting 20 goals.

Tony Pulis would love to keep the Burundi-born striker but he has also been promised additional funding, should the club receive an approach that they cannot turn down.

A source confirmed: "The club are worried, they have fended off all interest so far but there is a huge worry that a big offer is coming."

Berahino was due to feature for England Under-21s at the European Championship earlier this summer, but he was forced to miss the tournament due to injury.
