Brown Ideye's performances have divided opinion ever since he arrived at West Brom. Not just because the big forward attracts supporters and critics in equal measure but because his displays themselves have been so up and down.
The 26-year-old has turned his form around about twice for the better and twice for the worse over the course of a season. In the end, his Premier League return of just four goals last term wasn't really what the Baggies were looking for.
But, with his debut campaign at the Hawthorns - one that involved the sacking of a manager - out of the way, West Brom fans are now hopeful Ideye can come consistently good.
The Nigerian scoring once again during pre-season, then, was a good sign. Indeed, Tony Pulis's side beat Charleston Battery 2-1 on Friday night, with Saido Berahino and Ideye on the scoresheet.
And, on Twitter after the game, some fans poked fun at the fact the 26-year-old netted a rare goal - but others were impressed by his performance and are either hoping for or predicting a big season ahead. Here's what West Brom fans made of Ideye's display on social media!
