Fabio Borini’s agent Marco De Marchi has told reporters for Sportitalia that the Liverpool striker has a number of offers on the table this summer, including some from Italy.
The 24-year-old joined the Reds from AS Roma in the summer of 2012, re-uniting with boss Brendan Rodgers following their previous spell together at Swansea City.
Despite the initial excitement over his arrival, Borini struggled to fit in at Anfield and spent the following campaign on loan at Sunderland, scoring seven Premier League goals in 32 games.
While a potential deal to the Hammers has yet to materialise, Borini’s days on Merseyside are numbered and his agent has revealed that the striker has plenty of offers on the table.
“I have received many offers, with some from Italy. We will continue to negotiate with Liverpool and make sure we make the right choice,” De Marchi told Italian reporters.
Does Fabio Borini have a future at Anfield?
Borini is evidently a solid striker, but question marks are there over his ability to truly perform at the very top level and some could suggest the Reds out to be looking for better.
The former Chelsea youngster does have attributes which are handy at Premier League level, and he showed during his time at the Stadium of Light that he can hold his own in the top-flight.
With Roberto Firmino joining and Christian Benteke set to follow, the Merseysiders are heavily bolstering their attacking options and that only restricts Borini’s first-team opportunities further.
