The player hoping to break through at Leeds United is seemingly looking a new club.
Leeds United trialist Adam Drury took to Twitter on Saturday morning to confirm that he was set for a quiet weekend with the family instead of heading off with Uwe Rosler’s side for their pre-season tour of Austria.
The 21-year-old former Manchester City youngster joined Leeds on trial earlier this summer and while he was an unused substitute for the recent friendly against Harrogate he got his chance to impress in last week’s clash against York City.
However, despite his 40-minute cameo it was not enough to ensure he travelled with the squad this weekend.
Since Drury’s tweet the Yorkshire Evening Post has published a story of its own, claiming that it appears the right-back-cum -winger has failed in his attempt to earn a permanent contract ahead of the new campaign.
The Leeds squad flew out this morning for their next friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt but it is being suggested that Drury must now continue his search for a new club.
The player’s presence on trial raised some interesting questions over the future of Sam Byram – another player who can feature at either right-back or on the wing – but despite a promising showing against York, it seems Leeds fans have seen the last of Drury in their colours.
