Tottenham Hotspur played another behind-closed-doors match this weekend.
While Tottenham Hotspur’s younger players were preparing for their clash against Peterborough on Saturday, the senior players were taking part in a behind-closed-doors friendly match against Reading, with pictures later posted on the club's official Twitter account.
Tottenham’s pre-season campaign has been limited to just three big matches, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side taking on a MLS All-Stars side at the end of the month followed by games against Real Madrid and either Bayern Munich or AC Milan.
But that does mean Tottenham’s players are not being tested in the meantime, with Reading the latest side to compete against them.
Tottenham ran out 1-0 winners on Saturday with Danish international Christian Eriksen scoring the only goal of the game.
While familiar faces were on show some of Tottenham’s youngsters also got a run-out including Nathan Oduwa and Cameron Carter-Vickers, with the centre-back playing an important role in keeping the Royals at bay.
Tottenham have impressed with their summer transfer business to date, signing Kevin Wimmer, Toby Alderweireld and Kieran Trippier as well as waving goodbye to some out-of-favour players.
More arrivals could well follow, but those already at the club continue to ready themselves for what will be a vital campaign for Pochettino and his men.
