The 19-year-old Tottenham midfielder is one of the top prospects in the country, but he is still yet to make his friendly debut for his new club.
The 19-year-old is highly regarded at White Hart Lane after blowing League One away in his final season at MK Dons, signing for Tottenham in January before spending the rest of the campaign on loan at Stadium MK. The midfielder helped the Dons up into the Championship for the first time since 2004.
But having failed to feature in the club's pre-season friendly against Southend last week, Alli was again missing as the first team took on Reading at Hotspur Way on Saturday, with Christian Ericksen scoring the game's only only goal.
There was another Spurs match going on at the same time, as a Tottenham XI took on Peterborough at the ABAX Stadium. This team, though made up of a several promising youngsters like Milos Veljkovic, also didn't feature Alli.
So where was the England Under-19 star? He was in the stands watching his hometown team and former club MK Dons beat Buckingham Athletic a whopping 12-0, according to Milton Keynes site OneMK.
Quite what Alli was doing there when Spurs had pre-season matches is anyone's guess. Perhaps he was carrying an injury, or he could have been watching the club ahead of another loan spell there next season.
But one thing is for sure, if Alli continues to sit out Spurs fixtures for unconfirmed reasons, only to wind up in the stands of a team that would surely be delighted to have him on loan next season, it is only going to lead to speculation that he is not ready to part of the Tottenham first team.
