Chery looks set to leave FC Groningen this summer, and a report in VI has confirmed that he has missed pre-season training on Friday whilst negotations continue with an English club.
The playmaker, who was one of only five players with over 20 combined goals and assists in the Eredivisie last season, is holding talks with an English team, with two said to be tracking his availability.
The report states that QPR and Aston Villa both want to sign the midfielder, 27, although there is an offer from the Middle East on the table.
However, he appears to have opted against moving to China, and instead is favouring the move to England - with negotiations ongoing.
Chery netted 17 times in 42 games last term, and has just one year left on his contract. His exit from Groningen has been expected this summer, and the report states that he will be leaving for roughly £2 million.
It is almost certain that the midfielder will be turning out for QPR or Villa next term, and it remains to be seen which club have been holding negotiations with the player after his missed pre-season training.
