Aston Villa second half XI vs Braga: Bunn, Richardson, Baker, Donacien, Mason, Calder, Cole, Robinson, Tonev, N’Zogbia, Kozak
Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood prepares for his club's second pre-season fixture when the Midlands outfit take on Primeira Liga outfit Braga in Albufeira at 6:30pm BST, with plenty of talk about who isn't in the side rather than who will be playing.
Much of the news back in the UK surrounded the futures of Villa stars Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph, and though the Belgian had been out in Portugal with the rest of the squad, while Villa captain Fabian Delph remained at home, it seems unlikely the Belgian will be involved. His absence will only fuel rumours that Benteke is as close to a move to Anfield as this BBC Sport report have suggested.
It will be a tough test for Villa considering Braga finished in 4th position in their league last year, and are regular qualifiers for European competition.
Carles Gil impressed in the defeat to Fulham earlier on in the week, in which Micah Richards made his debut and Libor Kozak scored for the first time in 19 months. Goalkeeper Mark Bunn is given his first appearance since moving to the club this summer, but midfielder Idrissa Gueye is not involved.
