Liverpool look set to finally bring an end to the Christian Benteke transfer saga by meeting his £32.5 million release clause, according to the Telegraph.

Rumours of a Manchester United swoop appear to have forced Liverpool into action and a deal could soon be agreed.

Villa have reportedly agreed a deal for Spanish Under-21 international Sergi Darder, as per Italian outlet TMW.

Roma and Inter were believed to be interested but it appears Villa have stolen a march on their rival pursuers, and a deal for the Malaga midfielder is now close.

Another midfield talent is apparently on Tim Sherwood’s radar, with Turkish outlet 3Puan reporting that Villa hold an interest in Galatasaray’s Blerim Dzemaili.

Villa face competition in the form of Stoke and BSC Young Boys, however, and have their work cut out to get a deal over the line.

Meanwhile, an audacious move for Roma’s Adem Ljajic has been touted, with Villa set to rival Manchester City for his signature, as reported by TMW.

The Villans are said to be planning how best to reinvest the Benteke windfall they are set to receive, and the talented 23-year old has now appeared on the club’s radar.

Finally, Aly Cissokho is in line for a Serie A move after just one season at Villa Park, according to Italian site Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Frenchman joined last season from Valencia but fell out of favour once Sherwood took the reigns and Fiorentina are reportedly interested in taking him off Villa’s hands.
