Aston Villa assistant manager Ray Wilkins has explained on the club’s official website, why he feels the club need to ensure that Villa Park is packed on a weekly basis once the new season gets underway.
Wilkins has admitted that he always enjoyed playing at Villa Park, stressing the natural benefits that the club can create for themselves, which have the ability to put their opponents onto the back foot.
“It's a massive football club - a huge football club. I used to love playing at Villa Park. It's a beautiful pitch. The stadium looks magnificent,” he told avfc.co.uk.
“We have to make sure it's full every week and we have the backing of the supporters that turn up - because, there's no two ways about it, when that place is rocking, it's a tough place to play.”
