Tottenham Hotspur transfer round-up: Spurs set for disappointment over James McCarthy

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been quoted by the Daily Mail insisting that midfielder James McCarthy is not for sale.

The middle man is a target for Tottenham according to the paper, but the Spanish coach has played down the idea of him leaving.

Spurs will seemingly have to look elsewhere if reports of their interest in the player are accurate.

“He’s not for sale. He is a vital part of our squad,” said Martinez.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Tottenham are reportedly in talks with Spanish club Sevilla over Roberto Soldado.

The striker has struggled to produce his best form ever since he arrived at White Hart Lane from La Liga club Valencia.

The paper claims that Tottenham are willing to take a £15 million loss on the player, with Sevilla prepared to match the player’s current wage deal.

The Sunderland Echo has reported that Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul is a target for Sunderland.

Kaboul, who was named as captain last season, has struggled to produce his best form under Mauricio Pochettino.

The paper claims he’s already been made available for transfer, as Spurs reportedly look to offload another player.
