Report: Milan agree big-money deal for Premier League-linked defender Aymen Abdennour

AC Milan

Newcastle United, West Ham United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked with Monaco’s Aymen Abdennour.

According to a report in the French paper ShemsFM, AC Milan have agreed a €30 million [£21 million] deal with Monaco for their much-coveted defender Aymen Abdennour.

The Tunisian international has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer, with Italy and England the two countries named as his most likely destinations.

As reported in the Daily Mail, Premier League quartet Liverpool, Newcastle United, Arsenal and West Ham United have been credited with holding an interest, with the latter certainly willing to spend this summer.

The Hammers have brought in a host of top players, including another centre-back in Angelo Ogbonna, who joined from Juventus, yet the club seemingly aren’t ready to stop yet.

However, it appears Abdennour is no longer an option as fresh reports claim the defender is Milan bound after his agent Abdelkader Jalleli told officials a deal has been agreed, ShemsFM state.

What are the Premier League quartet set to miss out on?

The 25-year-old is naturally centre-back but can fill in out on the left. He is tall, strong and excellent in possession, instigating attacks from the back with his wide range of passing.

Abdennour would have been a fine addition for a number of Premier League sides, not least Steve McClaren’s Newcastle United side, who are short at the back heading into the new campaign.
