The Turkish giants are reportedly looking to offload the 29-year-old Switzerland international this summer.
Dzemaili, 29, joined the Turkish Super Lig champions from Napoli last September for €2.35 million [£1.6 million] but made just 11 league appearances over the course of the season due to both injuries and the likes of Hamit Altintop, Selcuk Inan and Felipe Melo providing strong competition for places.
The Istanbul outfit are now said to be keen to offload the Switzerland international this summer for around £1.4 million, with the Premier League duo reported to have joined native club BSC Young Boys on the list of his potential suitors.
In Villa’s case, a move for Dzemaili would seem a somewhat strange one on paper, considering manger Tim Sherwood currently has captain Fabian Delph, new signing Idrissa Gueye, Carlos Sanchez, Ashley Westwood and the promising Gary Gardner at his disposal in the centre of the park.
In addition, recent reports have also claimed that the claret and blues are close to finalising a deal for promising Malaga midfielder Sergi Darder [h/t TMW], which would leave little room for another defensive-minded middle man.
Stoke’s rumoured interest, on the other hand, makes a lot more sense, having seen the club's Player of the Year Steven N’Zonzi depart for Sevilla earlier this month in a £7 million deal.
The Potters have since been linked with a move for Udinese’s Emmanuel Badu [h/t Gazzetta dello Sport] but the Ghana international himself confirmed this week that, while has held talks with English teams, there have still been no offers for his signature.
Dzemaili might still be a decent cut-price option for Mark Hughes’ men then, although it is still not out of the question that Sherwood could be looking to add some much-needed experience to his fledgling squad in the form of the two-time World Cup veteran.
