As a row over his future escalates, Ricky Alvarez has been left to train alone.
Sunderland signed Alvarez on loan from Inter Milan last season, but the playmaker failed to hold down a regular place in the side.
Dick Advocaat's side are opposed to this, and have tried to find a loophole based around Alvarez's injury issues.
Inter Milan are not taking this lying down, and as reported by Football Italia, the Serie A giants have taken the case to football's governing body FIFA for arbitration.
With neither side keen on having Alvarez next season, he is not training with either club, instead reduced to keeping fit by himself.
He posted a photo taken in his native Argentina, in capital Buenos Aires, explaining he is awaiting news on his future; but there is no indication when the situation will be resolved.
It's really a sad state of affairs for the player's career, but with the big sums of money involved, it is understandable why neither club are currently willing to back down.
