Bayern Munich want Arturo Vidal to replace Schweinsteiger - report

The Chilean midfield general, who has been linked with Arsenal, is in the Bavarians sights, according to Goal.

Bayern Munich are set to make a move for Juventus star Arturo Vidal this summer, as they look for a player to replace Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to Goal.

The Bavarians have agreed to sell the World Cup winning Germany international to Manchester United and as such the Bundesliga champions are a midfielder down ahead of next season.

Vidal has been at the centre of transfer speculation throughout the summer, with reports in Metro that Arsenal had made a major move for the Chile international.

However, despite the links to Arsene Wenger’s men, the Copa America winning talisman could be on his way back to Germany.

Goal state that talks have already began between Bayern and Juventus, with the Italians demanding €40 million for the South American star.

The former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder has been a critical member of the Bianconeri’s massively successful team over recent years and is widely acknowledged as one of the best in his position in world football.

Pep Guardiola’s men won the Bundesliga last season but were outdone in Europe and as such will surely want to bolster their ranks ahead of the 2015-16 campaign.
