Leeds United defender Sol Bamba told Radio Yorkshire that the results are the most important thing for the club this season.
The centre back resisted the urge to talk up Uwe Rosler ahead of the new season, suggesting that victories are all that matters once the manager’s philosophy kicks in and the competitive games start coming thick and fast.
“He’s been great so far to be honest, but the results are going to speak for him,” he told Radio Yorkshire.
“We’ve enjoyed it from the first day and he’s said what he wants, we’ve taken it on board and we’re enjoying it so far – It’s huge obviously, they’re (the fans) the most important people at the club.”
Why are positive results important for Leeds?
Some good results over the first few weeks of the Championship season are important because they can have beneficial effects for all areas of the club.
It will be significant for the club’s board and Massimo Cellino, because they will see good results as justification that they have made the right decision over the club’s manager.
It will impact on the players, who will benefit in the form of confidence and momentum, with a winning mentality starting to develop.
It’s also important for the fans because they will want to see progression and a side they can get fully behind next year, whipping up real support for the team and making them intimidating to play against.
Finally, it will be important for the manager because it will be evidence that the message he’s been trying to get across has clicked with his players and they understand the way he wants them to play.
