Agbonlahor says Fabian Delph plays like a Brazilian in Aston Villa training

Gabriel Agbonlahor

The 25-year-old Aston Villa star turned down a move to Manchester City this summer.

Gabby Agbonlahor has been talking to the Aston Villa site about the one individual he has played alongside that he would pick as his very favourite Villa player, and luckily for supporters, it is an individual that has just committed himself to staying at the club.

"It would have to be Fabian Delph," the striker responded when asked about his favourite Villa teammate on the club's website.

"I have played with some really great players - Stewart Downing, Ashley Young, James Milner and Gareth Barry to name just four.

"But over the last few seasons, Delphy has taken it to another level.

"He is outstanding in games - but you should see him in training! No-one can get the ball off him. He's like a Brazilian midfielder!"

Agbonlahor is about to enter his eleventh season as an Aston Villa first-teamer, having come through the youth academy system over a decade ago.

And though he has won England caps, the 28-year-old has remained committed to turning out for his hometown club, which alongside several derby goals, has endeared him to the Villa faithful.

Delph displayed a similar level of loyalty to the club this summer, when he turned down a transfer to Manchester City and the chance of Champions League football in order to remain at Villa Park as captain.

The former Leeds man has recently found a place in the England setup, and after a superb last few months to the season under Tim Sherwood, could well end up becoming a bonafide legend for the Lions.
