Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele divides opinion among the club’s fans, with some feeling he deserves more chances to shine and others believing he has had plenty of opportunities and fallen short in that regard.
Earlier this summer it seemed the Belgian international could be heading out of White Hart Lane, with the Independent claiming Chelsea and West Ham United were both prepared to bid for the £12million-rated midfielder; but considering Tottenham’s recent transfer business, could the 27-year-old get one final chance to impress?
While Dembele is more of an attacking midfielder, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is not going to completely gut the centre of his side when – up until now – he is yet to reinforce in that area.
Dembele is a wonderful talent who, when on form, can be highly effective. He showed glimpses of that last season and while consistency is still an issue he could yet prove to be a key player for Tottenham next season.
With two midfielders gone and another tipped to follow, a stay of execution could see an upturn in form and fortune for the oft-discussed Belgian.
