West Ham United transfer round-up: One player to join, one to leave

A selection of the latest news concerning West Ham United.

West Ham look set to wrap up a deal for Manuel Lanzini in the coming days, according to HITC Sport.

The Hammers agreed terms with Al Jazira earlier this month to sign the 22-year-old on loan for the season, and the Argentine playmaker is set to travel to England on Thursday to finalise the move.

The deal is said to be a season-long loan deal, with an option to purchase Lanzini outright at the end of the deal.

This move will allow the departure of one player to go through, with the Gazette claiming that Stewart Downing is all-but set for a return to Middlesbrough.

The 31-year-old midfielder, who started his career with Boro, has agreed personal terms in principal, and both clubs have reached an acceptable deal to take him to the Championship for next season.

Also according to HITC Sport, the Hammers are tracking Hoffenheim defender Luis Advincula, who impressed at the Copa America with Peru. The 25-year-old, who is naturally a right-back, but can also play on the wing, has been the centre of interest from West Ham - as well as a selection of their Premier League rivals.
