HITC Sport understands that West Ham United, Stoke City and Swansea City are also monitoring Hoffenheim's Peruvian defender.

A host of Premier League clubs are battling to land one of the stars of the Copa America in the shape of Peru's Luis Advincula, HITC Sport understands from sources close to a potential deal.

The 25-year-old was one of the star turns for Peru as they finished in third place in South America's top footballing extravaganza.

Advincula is currently with Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim but he has only played a couple of games for the club having spent the last three seasons out on loan, including finishing last term with Portuguese outfit Vitoria Setubal.

And he looks unlikely to add to his appearances for Hoffenheim as he has a number of English clubs ready to move for his services.

A source confirmed to HITC Sport: "There is a lot of interest in Advincula, he had a good campaign in Portugal and then followed that up with a very impressive Copa America campaign."

HITC Sport has learned that Stoke City, Southampton, Swansea City, Sunderland and West Ham United have all expressed an interest in Advincula, who can play in defence and midfield.
