Leeds United played two games on one night, and one player from each match has now taken to social media.
Some of Leeds United’s players have taken to social media following their pre-season friendly games against York City and Tadcaster Albion.
Uwe Rosler sent out two teams on the same night with one side drawing 1-1 with York and the other running out 3-0 winners against Tadcaster.
The matches gave the new Leeds boss and his staff the chance to run the rule over a number of players ahead of what promises to be a very interesting Championship campaign at Elland Road.
Sam Byram scored in the draw with York which saw the majority of Leeds’ first-team stars participate, while Mirco Antenucci, Billy Sharp and Souleymane Doukara netted in the other game.
After the match, Lewis Cook and Lewis Walters both took to Twitter to express their feelings about the games, with the outstanding young midfielder playing against York and the 20-year-old striker starting against Tadcaster.
“Very happy with the game tonight; good to get some game-time and pleased with the win,” Walters wrote.
The youngster is yet to make his first-team debut for Leeds and may struggle to do so given the sheer number of strikers now at the club, but Rosler has more time to see what he can do before the competitive action kicks off.
As for Cook, he wrote, “Glad to get 90 minutes under my belt,” and having been a standout player for Leeds last season he is sure to be vital in Rosler’s debut campaign.
