The Stoke City debutant was pleased to have got his first game under his belt.
Stoke City goalkeeper Jakob Haugaard has taken to Twitter following his debut for the club in the Asia Trophy pre-season clash against Everton.
The 23-year-old signed for the Potters back in May arriving from FC Midtjylland for an undisclosed fee, and as things stand he will compete with Jack Butland and Shay Given for a starting place.
Haugaard played 37 times for Midtjylland and 15 times for Akademisk Boldklub while he has also been capped twice for Denmark’s under-20 side.
The move to Stoke is a big one for the young stopper and he will have been very pleased with his debut, starting the match against the Toffees and keeping them at bay until it came to the penalty shoot-out which Everton won 5-4.
The Stoke stopper pulled off a particularly good save shortly after half-time, brilliantly tipping over Naismith’s effort when the forward was clean through on goal.
After the game, the Stoke player took to Twitter to have his say on his first outing for his new club.
“Feels great to have played my first game in a Stoke City shirt,” Haugaard wrote, and on this form there will be plenty more to follow.
